What Is The InterLink IBTE Marketplace? Tokenized Business Revenue

Oct 02, 2026

Our journey

InterLink has announced the upcoming launch of the InterLink Business Token Exchange (IBTE), a dedicated marketplace designed to bring real-world commercial activity on-chain. Instead of focusing only on physical assets, IBTE centers on tokenized businesses and transaction-backed value. This guide explains what IBTE is and how it works in simple terms.

What Is the IBTE Marketplace?

The InterLink Business Token Exchange (IBTE) is a marketplace where verified businesses can list Business Tokens on the InterLink Chain. These tokens represent real operating businesses and are designed to connect on-chain value with actual commercial activity.

Behind IBTE sits InterLink’s Transaction-Backed Digital Assets Protocol. When a business tokenizes, its Business Token is automatically paired with ITL in a protocol-embedded AMM liquidity pool. As the business processes real payments through InterLink’s payment infrastructure, a portion of that activity is routed to support the token’s liquidity and on-chain demand.

Key Concept: Business Tokenization

Instead of only tokenizing physical assets such as real estate or art, InterLink focuses on tokenizing business economic activity. Value is intended to be supported by real transaction flow rather than pure speculation.

How Does IBTE Differ from Other RWA Platforms?

The RWA landscape is evolving rapidly, with most platforms focusing on static assets like real estate or treasuries. IBTE takes a fundamentally different approach by centering on active business revenue and transaction flow. Many RWA platforms focus on wrapping physical assets into tokens. IBTE takes a more business- and transaction-oriented approach.

Key differences include:

  • Verifiable commercial activity - Business Tokens are linked to real operating businesses and transaction flow through InterLink’s payment layer.
  • Business-focused design - The platform targets commercial economic activity rather than only physical assets.
  • ITL and ITLG integration - ITL serves as the settlement and reserve currency paired with every Business Token; ITLG supports verified human participation in the broader ecosystem.
  • Protocol-embedded AMM - Liquidity is created at the protocol level, with each Business Token automatically paired with ITL.
  • Clearer integration path - Businesses can connect through InterLink’s infrastructure and tooling rather than building liquidity from scratch on external markets.

How Does IBTE Work?

At a high level, the process is designed as follows. Each step is built to connect real business activity with on-chain value.

  • Step 1 - Businesses tokenize their economic activity: A verified business issues a Business Token (an IRC-20 token) representing its operations on InterLink Chain. Up to 10,000 businesses and individuals can register as payment points, tokenizing their operations directly on InterLink Chain and the InterLink AMM.
  • Step 2 - The token is paired with ITL: The protocol automatically creates an AMM pool pairing the Business Token with ITL, establishing on-chain liquidity from the start.
  • Step 3 -  Users can trade Business Tokens: Through IBTE and related interfaces, users can buy and sell Business Tokens against ITL.
  • Step 4 - Real payments support the token: According to the official protocol design, 5% of every transaction processed through InterLink's payment infrastructure is automatically routed into the Business Token's AMM pool. This portion is used to buy the business's tokenized assets, creating sustained demand tied to actual commerce.
  • Step 5 - ITL remains the settlement backbone: All major pairs settle against ITL, reinforcing its role as the network’s reserve and settlement currency.

Important clarification

According to the official protocol design, Business Token holders do not receive traditional cash dividends or direct revenue payouts from the business. The economic effect is primarily expressed through on-chain demand, liquidity, and market mechanics tied to real transaction volume - not through classic profit distribution.

What Rights Do Business Token Holders Have?

Holding a Business Token creates a defined set of economic, governance, and liquidity rights. Understanding these rights is important before participating in any Business Token.

  • Economic Rights: Holders benefit from continuous AMM buy-side demand, deepening liquidity, and optional fee yield for liquidity providers. As the business processes more transactions, more value is routed into the pool, creating sustained demand.
  • Governance Rights: BT holders can participate in decisions affecting their specific Business Token, such as supply parameter changes and AMM pool adjustments. This gives the holder community a voice in how their token evolves.
  • Liquidity Rights: Business Tokens can be traded 24/7 on the AMM, providing continuous liquidity. Unlike traditional private business investments, Business Tokens can be bought and sold at any time.

Important Note: Holding a Business Token does not grant equity or dividend rights in the issuing business. This is an important distinction from traditional stock investing. Value comes from on-chain market mechanics, not company ownership

Why IBTE Matters for the InterLink Ecosystem

IBTE is designed to strengthen the connection between InterLink and the real economy:

  • Real economic activity - It links on-chain tokens to operating businesses and actual transaction flow.
  • Stronger $ITL utility - Every Business Token is paired with $ITL, creating structural demand for the reserve token as more businesses join.
  • New opportunities for users - Verified participants can interact with tokenized business activity beyond simple holding or mining.
  • Ecosystem growth - As more businesses list and process payments, both liquidity and network utility can expand.

Current Status of IBTE

As of now, no firm launch date for IBTE has been confirmed. The protocol is in development, with the Transaction-Backed Digital Assets Protocol v1.0 already launched and the full marketplace expected to follow after the ecosystem's Version 5.0 upgrade.

InterLink has successfully deployed the first stages of RWA tooling on the Seoul Private Mainnet. When IBTE officially launches, it will mark a significant milestone in bringing real business activity on-chain at scale. Users interested in IBTE should follow official InterLink Labs channels for updates on the launch date and specific features.

Conclusion

The IBTE Marketplace represents a clear direction for real-world asset design on InterLink: focus on tokenized businesses and transaction-backed value, not only physical assets. By pairing every Business Token with ITL and routing a share of real payment activity into protocol-embedded AMM pools, InterLink aims to create a verifiable link between on-chain markets and real commercial throughput. As with any early-stage marketplace and RWA design, outcomes depend on adoption, technical delivery, and real business performance.
